After some thoughts and opinions from our American cousins on what they find to be the best SEO methods, I know Steve has had his head down doing his own, and I am doing my own at the minute aswell.

But if money was no object I know I would outsource it at the drop of a hat, so come on guys and gals, tell me what your thoughts are.

If money was no object, then I'd throw everything into adwords. No other form of marketing gives you such immediate feeback of success or failure, which can be tracked via google analytics and goal conversions.

In reality, the holy grail is organic, and we are all chasing and competing with each other for those sexy keywords, and then its down to traditional SEO, keywords, page titles, keyword density, link building etc

In fact if money was no object, outsource the lot!! Adwords and organic SEO!! But unfortunately it looks like we will have to keep slogging along ourselves...

Agree 100%, its rewarding doing your own, just so bloody time consuming, but we do have our "other" project at 756k Alexa Ranking, so very chuffed with that!

And have to say my listing on your UK one has had me a contact already, unfortunately it was from a Mum wanting a placement for her sons work experience, but shows its working, which is the real measure of SEO, your head down was obviously working!

Pretty impressive, is that the directory, or another project under wraps? Good to get some feedback for MLS, hopefully next time we will send you a paying client!!

Alexa Traffic Rank Now! yes thats the Directory, going for press releases this week, as not attempted this before!

Hi Kip

I like to use Alexa as a rough guide, but results can be very varied. US sites tend to feature better than UK ones, maybe more users use the toolbar, but its a good way of comparing the competition.

I tend to compare alexa, pagerank, links and indexing to get a feel for a competitor.

Be interesting to hear how you got on with press releases, something we've done in the past, had medium results, but not done in a while.

2 free press releases have us at the top of google, well if you tap in the name of our site that the press releases are for, I am not plugging it on here due to conflicting interests, am here in design mode not commercial mode!

Paid them to submit 12 press releases over and above the free ones, will let you know how that pans out.

Hi Kip

If you want someone to do PR or Articles for you, can highly recommend this chap, in fact will invite him and see if he wants to pop along here!

Below is a thread from the UKBF, you will see lots of feedback for him, initially it started as sceptical, but he has proven his worth, and used him myself.

Prices are very reasonable, and he has generated us a couple of longterm links.

Like I say check him out:

Excellent stuff Steve, checked it out, the support he got was great to see and his way of dealing with OWG was, polite!

May need reminding in a few days, as paid for one lot to go out, but these were written by me, will pm you a link, it has done us rather well so far and should be going out to a lot more, 12 all told I think.

just got your PM and seen your PR.

I'm no expert but think I reconise some of the text from your site, so becareful of duplicate content penalties, and try and keep any PR or articles original content.
