its all gone quiet. my website is showing a lot more on google now but it still needs a load of work to get up to a point which drives a significant amount of business. Any other marketing ideas?

All depends on what you have tried so far. Why not start a new thread summarising what you have done so far, and I'm sure you will get plenty of ideas and feedback.

If you don't optimise the site with keywords, nothing good will happen for you as far as search engine traffic is concerned. It will be as dead as a doormouse (no pun intended).
