You can easily improve your website by doing SEO Activities. Just do on page optimization, after then you can do off page activities like Article Submission, Directory Submission and Forum Posting etc. It will be very beneficial to get good position in search engines.
I think its all about applying White Hat SEO or PPC if you can.. If you go with SEO then its a long term solution so it will take time.. On other hand, PPC is useful to get immediate results but you will have to spend some valuable money on it..
