Now many companies require their emplyees to pass all kinds of IT certifications. Then what they are and what kind of role they play? Acturally, IT certifications can just prove you have the related abilities so you can do the corresponding job.
1. Cisco Certifications
IMHO, Cisco Certifications can be No.1, first i am not the staff of Cisco and i have never got any good from them (just a joke). The reason why i say so is that Cisco certifications are available in various sectors like switching, networking, routing, network security and service provider etc. There are three kinds of Cisco Certifications that are offered from Cisco. They are professional, associate as well as expert level. Obviously, with Cisco certifications you can defenitely have a handsome salary which will also provide you personal satisfaction and self confidence. Then of course they can prove your skills and knowledge.
So, better future, nice salary and self confidence will be around you if you have Cisco Certifications.
2. CompTIA certifications.
CompTIA certifications are also very popular in IT area. CompTIA has many kinds of certifications, such as A+, Networks, Security+, Server+, Linux+, PDI+, RFID+, CTP+, CTT+, CDIA+ and Project+. Really involved in many aspects. No need to say there must be many kinds of exams which you have to pass if you want to get these certifications. I will not point one by one you can find the details in CompTIA web.

Vowed never to do another one, but certificate hangs on my wall to remind me of the

I remember himself showing me a CV someone had written which basically had a section entitled "I can spell the following qualifications:" followed by a list much like the one in KZhao's post there. Apparently it was marvellous for getting interviews - because human beings didn't read the CVs any more, just scanned for keywords. He could spell every qualification they were looking for!
