For anyone maybe who doesn't follow SEO very closely, you may not be aware of the name Matt Cutts.
He is a senior guy inside Google, who has become a public voicepipe and frequently offers SEO advice, hints tips, and gives clues to google changes, or explains why google has made a change to say its search algorithm.
Personally, I've followed his blog for a while, and picked up some pretty useful stuff, as well worked out where I've made some big mistakes. But it's always worth remembering it's his blog and not an official Google channel.
But here's a thought provoking article from site reference.
Who Is Matt Cutts: SEO Guru or Wolf in Sheeps Clothing?
Be interesting to hear what anyone else thinks.
I always like to watch his latest you tube stuff etc - and have picked up bits from it also. So on balance more good than bad. tomsk
There is no reason to avoid Matt Cutts. He is the only spokesman who give new updates about Google's major changes. Any way I am not believing him 100 percent as he is first a Google employee and he is obliged to protect the interests of his company rather than SEO community.
I'm in agreement with you both, ultimately he's a Google employee. Though I'd say everything is relevant to Google & worthwhile listening to on the basis of that understanding. If you want to Bing then the 'rules' may be different - though not always IMHO.
I start following his blog as well....good to know what is going on around WEB. ) Thanks for post! Wedding Videos London | Wedding Videos Essex | Wedding Videos Surrey from YouMyWorld Productions
Many time i read Matt Cutts He is just talking about spam protection link sparading, quality back link data relevance and all. I never found so important information that help to improve our ranking. proval123
I think he is a nutral person to be honest although he has direct links with Google he won't give away massive tips. I think his main aim is to work on Google's behalf and just show people what Google is really looking for and ways the are trying to cut the crap from search egnines. I wouldn't go as far to say he is a wolf in sheep clothing but again I wouldn't trusat everything he says Thanks, Kevin.Wiles
Made me change some passwords and mix em up a bit. Now all I need to is remember them:-) Mike bonsai passion
