Hi,

with all this talk about crisis with fuel I wanted to find out from the good folks on this forum whether they have good payback from my industry - solar energy?
What are peoples experiences?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "good payback" from solar energy - although I will say that I believe alternative energy should be a priority of the future.

Hi,

Well, the feed in tariff alows yout nurture a second income by getting money back form the electricity you sell and and selling it back to the national grid. Also it is a great investment for home-owners seeing this is the future. I am also aware that there is the initial cost of the solar panels and i was wondering how buyers found this balance. Is it working out cost effective?

thanks

Jacob

Unless you can start powering my thirsty 4x4 then I'm firmly stuck in the fuel crisis

Aha! Then you still need renewables! You dont' need solar you need an electric car!

If only!

My standard electric car rant...

Design an electric 4x4 capable of towing a 2 ton caravan and give it a range of at least 400 miles, and bring it in for about the same price of the current crop of 4x4's, and I'll buy one tomorrow

Investment in solar will be a formidable source of renewable energy.

Only when it is cost effective without taxpayers subsides. At present we are all paying for renewable energy products via our fuel bills / tax. So when the salesman comes knocking and say's "you can get a Government grant" what he's really saying is, is that it is being funded by everyone and will continue to do so for the forseeable future.

Also consider that the UK Government plans to reach a renewable energy goal by 2020.

The plan is a legal obligation otherwise there will be financial penalties. What I find funny, is that the majority around 90% of renewable energy products are imported from none other than both China and the USA which kind of makes a mockery of the green issues altogether as all they've done is stick 2 fingers up to the whole idea with China laughing all the way to the bank. And as for electric cars, the production of them alone prevents them from ever being green.

Thanks,
Barney

I think the UK faces a condundrum. To make alternative fuels work there needs to be a signficant investment in infrastructure; however, UK gov doesnt have the money. Electric cars are a perfect example I read that the government want electric cars to make up 25% of cars on the road by 2020. But there are still almost 0 charge points around the streets?! why would anybpdy invest in an electric car that they couldnt take journeys without the risk of runnning out of charge???

In terms of solar power as an answer to the general increase in fuel price I dont know where you are coming from - you simply cant replace solar power for anything that is a dependant on petrol or diesel which are the fuels that are currently inflated.

I think this was just a thread aimed at generating more business for your site - blatent spam

Fuel crisis must not be ignore, otherwise the planet will collapse.

On that happy note, I'm off to bedfordshire
