DON'T DO IT STEVE! I tried to get to grips with the Mac I inherited, it is SO,SO different from a PC and the effort was never worthwhile. I've always hated any technological innovation demanding a rethink of my previous ways of working so I was surprised how relatively quickly I became comfortable using Windows 7. Anyone less like a Luddite than me (you, for example) would sail through the whole process. If anyone wants an unloved 2006 Mac with lots of software please let me know! Linda CareersPartnershipUK

I have had a mac for 7 years now and have NEVER had a virus - I would 100% recommend if you are in a creative industry and you can import microsoft office software. enterprisepe
Personally use both Mac and PC. Not a expert on this but do think Macs get viruses but it must be on a small scale that doesn't really get reported that much. I don't get normally viruses on my personally PC mainly because I try to take the necessary precautions. Know of a number of Mac users who do not use antivirus because they feel they don't need to because they are using a Mac, personally not experience any virus problems at all on a Mac but chose to use antivirus on it.
