Blogging is a very good Off page technique to promote websites.

Thats kind of stating the obvious Rafael. Do you have any stats to or blogging information to help out any aspiring bloggers?

In your experience how do you gauge if it's been successful?

After all it's marketing, and unless you are blogging as a hobby, any online marketing should be measurable and analyzed shouldn't it?

I guess the question is, to hand craft quality content and not churn out the same old rubbish, is it worth the actual investment in time? Do you have stats to prove it is, or is it something that isn't measured?

Anything which builds traffic is going to be very helpful. A blog that no one reads might as well not exist. If you increase your Twitter followers, then tweet and social bookmark your high-quality content, writing a blog can be a great foundation for any online marketing campaign.
