If you are, like many, a business that slows down during the xmas period, what do you do to handle it? close earlier? get those little jobs done that have been hanging around all year? learn something new?

Traditionally we rolled out major updates and let them bed in over the quiet period, but December is starting to become quite a good month for us now (which has just put the kiss of death on it for this year )

We try to get as much work out of the way as possible. We try to finish as many self assessment tax returns as you they need to be filled in January so its always good to get a start on that.

We close the office early too. We've looked at the calender and decided what dates that it is important to come in on.

In the festival period, we always give some discount on the product, and sometimes we also give some free items with the product.

It is the time to start building your relationship with existing customers so that they are more meaningful and trusting, and will ultimately lead to a rich source of referrals.
Now is the time, make your Christmas more productive. Know your customers and embark on a new relationship and a future source of business.

Pretty good words and approach.

Not a bad idea...how about sending some business Xmas ecards to customers.

I sell clothes and they sell like hot cake over Christmas and new years. The business tends to slow down after new yearsthumbsdown.
