Typed in me web addy on google, and as usual brings up the list of sites.

My site included, what i would like to know is what are the stars next to the listings. I clicked it and it turned a yellow or gold

anyone know what these are for. oh yeah if you see one next to my site addy click it and turn it to gold if its not already

They show as your favs when searching, so now you will see it on your searches more often lol! Great for Googlers, not so much for site owners, tends to make you think your site is number one all the time, I know because i floated blissfully for a week or two til I figured it out!

look at that and i clicked every star i could find lol.

I read somewhere, (but can't find it, so maybe I dreamt it) that this may form part of the G algorythm, ie the number of people who deem to put your site in their favourites, could be one of the million influencing factors that lead to your position in the serps.

But as Kip says, causes untold confusion if you click it yourself, and are also monitoring your positions

Yeah it surprised me some time back when I appeared to be top spot for all of my search terms. It really is that easy!
