Can anybody tell me how to make a wordpress theme? As far as I know, one needs to be an expert on html, css & .php to make one.
I'm learning html at the moment. Could anybody help please? Will be really grateful!
Already checked them all but again css and .php are my hurdles. Maybe I'm looking for someone who could make one for me? :/ Emily
“Already checked them all but again css and .php are my hurdles. Maybe I'm looking for someone who could make one for me? :/” There are 1000's of templates out there which can be tweaked quite easily, or if you want a bespoke one, just pay a webdesigner. Learning it all from scratch just to do it yourself doesn't make any sense, unless its a hobby!
And if it's your hobby good old fashioned HTML / CSS is a good place to start. It's not a quick process and yes moving on to Wordpress there are lots of templates available but it does help a lot to have knowledge of HTML / CSS / .php etc.. so unless it interests you get somebody else to do it for you! ![]()
I started learning HTML just on the insist of my Bhaiya (brother) but now that I have started those lessons I don't know some kinda addiction I feel. Was so excited when I turned my website red ![]() Anyway looking for a wordpress theme maker. But wondering no one would do it for free, would they? Emily

Another option is to look in plugins as there is a lot of appearance plug ins such as sideshows, photo albums and form makers etc. I doubt very much someone would do it for free but if you put your requirements on people per hour someone will recommend a quote - some are really cheap but look up their reviews/feedback first. in theory, all you will need is a copy of google chrome, and a text editor. simply right click the part you want to change, and click "inspect element". then its a matter of pressing the "plus" symbol on the right of the new debug window, and adding the appropriate css to your page. then, when that element looks the way you want it, add it to the relevant css file in wordpress. i havent personally made a theme in wordpress, but if its like drupal you can create a basic template theme, and then add to it the css that you want. i think it took me about a day to get the basics, but the advantage of doing it yourself, is that you dont need to pay for changes. but the first place to start, is with a design and some idea of how you want it to look. i find that much easier, and it gives you a target to aim for.
