Any of you out there drive or know of a good reliable motor .. I have been so used to getting a free new car every 4 years  I have sort of lost touch with cars .. Looking for something with a good boot size and not looking for anything bigger then 1.4 ,only car I don't like are fiat as they are so expensive to service or has that changed in the last few years. Also don't mind any sort of car

I know nothing about cars other than they have 4 wheels unless it's a Reliant Robin and are generally made of tin.... But I know of a green van that's just about to go on sale...

lol ... Who knew finding a car would be so difficult .. I keep changing every 5 minutes argggggg ...Although if I were a bad boy I could of gotten a free car worth £3500 , we stopped off at a garage with some nice looking cars started looking at a few and looked into 1 of the cars and hey presto the  keys were on the seat ,thought it was a bit weird and tried the door and it opened .. The office was locked up tight ,so I could easily have driven it away ,but the good boy inside me took the keys to the shop next door and said he would give the keys to the garage in the morning

Great security! Maybe worth seeing if they will give you a nice discount as a reward?

Car wise, all I can tell you about is the merits of a Cortina versus a Granada, or don't buy a Chevette or a Rover SD1. Any thing more modern and I haven't got a clue, they all look the same!

Now 4x4's is a different story

Best car I ever had was a Cortina Mk1 followed by the Escort Mk1. First car I purchased was a Moskovich, spent more time pushing it than driving... Soon realised it was never going to be a bird puller.... so dumped it in a canal and claimed the insurance.... haha those were the days...

I had a VW CC for a while. That had a big boot and was lovely to drive, only down side was the driving position.

Some of their seats, mine included, are at an incline, so it compresses your back and contributed to my back problem.

There was another seat i could buy which would have allowed the seat to level out - only £4k to change !! Sold the CC and bought my Audi

I love car shopping. Went through a few cars really quickly over the last few years, for various reasons. The only one i would say to stay away from is Renault. Ive had several without issues, but my last Laguna the gearbox went on it 3 months outside of the warranty - only done 60,000 - nightmare, vowed never to own or recommend them ever!

Keep us posted on your weapon of choice

yeah we had a Renault Clio a few years ago was cheap to buy but the servicing cost an arm and a leg .. I love Toyota as they just go and go and go so am leaning towards 1 again right now to a  Yaris and then there is the corsa Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 .. I am still changing my mind every 2 seconds  lol ,but am going to see this corsa tomorrow if it has not been sold yet 2007
