if i remember correctly when oil hit $140 a barrel a couple years ago, pump price was about 1.20/ltr... now oil is around $100, yet pump price has reached 1.40/ltr where i am...

Lloyds bank perform PR stunt! 1st March 2012 12:10 AM
i dont believe giving up money is in any banker's DNA... if they did, they wouldn't be very good bankers would they?

I think they will merely defer 2m now then claw them back later one way or another... there are a lot of sneaky ways to get paid...
Facebook to float for 20th February 2012 4:48 PM
the company is not going to shut down but it is an amusing thought... what would happen to all the personal data if the company shuts down?

I imagine under cover CIA lorries disguised as moving vans will show up at its HQ and data center
france doesn't want greece to default because it will be catastrophic for its banks and the dominoes effect to follow will be difficult to predict, especially if you factor in how changes in investors mentality will affect the debt and liquidity in portugal, italy and ireland
Social Network Traffic Generation 20th February 2012 4:42 PM
Hi Guys,

I've seen a lot of businesses set up facebook page then display the social plugin on their site and have anything from dozens of 'likes' to hundreds and even thousands.

I was just wondering how effective is this in terms of creating long-term sustainable traffic and user base for a site?

And what level of repeat traffic do you get (daily visitor per 100 fan/follower)?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated
i dont think anything can guarantee it but it will definitely help because running an online business is much cheaper

There are a lot of local business directories out there... some are free, some are paid, some are both...

Which do you use for your own business or your clients? and why?
Flash and SEO 27th January 2012 11:55 AM
ive seen flash sites ranking high so while it might be more difficult, it is not impossible at all...

it is important to have good meta tags and backlinks
yes... it depends on the client... if you are running a web based business, a lot of the times transaction happen without involving details about who you are, where you are based etc. so it's not such an issue...

however, if you approach offline clients, more of them will ask about who you are, where you are based etc.

so definitely try to expand your online presence and create a professional looking website
