Stunning Star Wars Stamps 14th September 2015 12:53 PM
Not actually seen them but heard they are funny from a few others too.

If you aren't a Family Guy regular then ideally watch a few others first otherwise the "in-house" jokes/innuendos won't make sense. Well worth a watch regardless though

No right to die here 14th September 2015 11:47 AM

I dont understand this at all

My cat gets run over and cannot be "repaired" and there is no hope so they will put it down.

My Dad had a brain tumor, there was no chance of a recovery/cure yet we had to watch him slip away bit by bit for several weeks. Each day a bit more of him died, before he slipped in to a coma 4 days before he eventually succumbed.

No dignity no humanity, suffering unknown ......

Not saying he would have done anything about it - but who knows.

All I know if I get a terminal diagnosis I'm off to Dignitas !!

Words fail me

Ok i can admit to not seeing ANY of the remakes.

Did get taken to the cinema in the 70's & 80's to see the originals, even been to the Sahara Desert where the first one was filmed

Anyone seen the Family Guy mickey take episodes? They are so good

A personal story ....... NHS at its best? 11th September 2015 1:38 PM

Well D-day was Wednesday and the pesky mole is now in histology - results in 6 weeks!

It was as bad as i was expecting and still in discomfort now but co-codomals are helping.

Yesterday i woke up to a pool of dried blood on my sheets (ok maybe a pool is a slight exaggeration lol) like a brave lil' trooper i glanced at my back in the mirror to the original dressing had slipped & i could see stitches   rang my GP got an appointment with the nurse later in the afternoon.

After peeling off the dressing, cleaning my back & applied a fresh dressing

Still in full admiration of the NHS - i've had nothing but the best of care and yes ok im a wimp and practically passed out on the table during the procedure but even then i had caring attentive staff to take care of me

And to Finish this Month of Nicely....... 11th September 2015 9:26 AM

Migration at what price? 7th September 2015 10:28 AM
I think it's desperately sad that people are so intent on escaping their own country they will risk not just their own, but their children's lives. It's terrifying really. We are so privileged here and it's not their fault they were born in a different country.

I think people who comment about keeping them out must be pretty hardhearted. There's lots of local campaigns to collect clothes etc and I am going to try and help in some way.

There's no easy solution of course, but hearing about some people in Hungary being tricked into boarding a train for Germany that actually took then to a refugee camp made for very uncomfortable/sinister reading.

 ”

These people were not tricked in to doing anything. I actually watched the News that night and i saw someone trying to convince them that the train was not going to Germany, announcements were made stating the train was not going to Germany - so where or how have they been tricked?

I'm confused also as refugees claim asylum in the first EU Country - so isn't that Hungary? Again what rights do they have to claim asylum in any other Country?

Not trying to be harsh - just trying to understand where this is going wrong.

Migration at what price? 4th September 2015 9:51 AM

Was sat on my better half's sofa last night, idle chat turned to silence as we watched the harrowing scene of the poor 3 yr old drowned on the beach.

More shocking was that ITV news decided to show his body, face down on the beach. As shock turned to anger at ITV for showing such an appalling shocking photo, the story continued to Hungary where migrants where allowed to board a train, believing it was destined to Germany only to find they were off to a processing detention centre. More shocking scenes of desperate people in desperate times. My opinion changed somewhat when they started demanding to go to Germany though. What rights do they have to do so? No papers, no ID, no passports. All done deliberately so they cannot be returned to their Country of origin.

BUT - why are they doing this? Who has said that Germany, UK indeed the rest of Europe is the place for them?

I understand that they are fleeing atrocities in their own Country, but what i've clearly missed is the reason behind this sudden surge/influx of migrants in their thousands fleeing and demanding to be allowed into the EU.

No solution here, just shock and anger at what sometimes is mindless headline grabbing news companies taking advantage of appalling scenes. Surely the message must get to them that the grass isnt greener and there is a huge risk to life if they continue to try and cross borders

Something has to be done to prevent a repeat of yesterday, which I fear is only the tip of the iceberg of what is going to happen in the coming days.

All of the above taken in to consideration, my thoughts are with those families that have lost their loved ones in such a shocking way.
