Need CMS for Web Comic on a Blogspot 11th February 2013 1:25 PM
Hey guys,

I don't know if you can even do this, but I'm looking for some kind of plugin for Blogspot to help a comic run smoother.
Yeah I know, blogspot sucks, but it's what my friend's site is on.

Basically, he has a comic that he posts a new page of every week.
Space Wolves: Wolf and Sister - Warhammer 40K Web Comic
All the links he's manually adding on the index.

Space Wolves: Wolf and Sister Part 13
And he's manually adding the Back, Next and Index links on every page

So whenever a new page (blog post with image embedded) goes live, he has to update the Index page, link to the new page from the previous comic page. Then link back to the previous comic page from the new page.

Is there something that can manage all this for him? Ala Penny Arcade - Crossfire

Thanks for your help
Adsense 4th November 2012 6:20 PM
we have disabled your account because it poses a threat to our advertisers.

Obviously, it's because you've created a website which sells SEO services and the adsense adverts which are likely to appear on there are for more SEO services.

I'd recommend registering with adsense for a different website.
For example, a hobby blog or similar. Then you can plaster your adsense code wherever you please once it's all verified
If you are in a fairly small niche market and not located in a city, I feel it is possible to get top spot (or near) on Google+ Local fairly quickly with just basic SEO.

In my experience though, the results achieved by this are mediocre. I get maybe 2 or 3 leads a week, which I suppose is not a bad return from a free service.

You get favouritism if you're based in a city centre for generic searches, so that tramples on a lot of small businesses.

However, it's definitely worth setting up just to help people who are trying to find your business through Google Maps. It's only half a days work if you do it right.
Qype is no more! Hello Yelp 4th November 2012 6:14 PM
Often that's the biggest worry.
But businesses really do need to come up with a way of incentivising reviews from their customers.
Hi everyone,

I've been asked to help increase awareness for a company that offers telephone answering, but I'm not quite sure where to begin, other than calling up every business in the directory book! But obviously, that's just going to annoy other business owners.

Could you recommend anywhere that's worth advertising? Because selling to customers is easy enough, but selling business to business is a real challenge.

Thanks

Well, they say that any press is good press.
I'll bet that cafe is doing a roaring trade now thanks to all the exposure.

Music License Scare Mongering? 6th August 2012 2:23 PM
I was in the office with a client at the weekend and he suddenly got a call from a group insisting that his Hi Fi shop needed a music license to play to the public.

He told the woman on the phone that they don't play music to the public and that the only place a member of the public can hear music is in a private music room and that they bring their own CDs, vinyls and DVDs in with them.

Some arguing ensues...

Then he expresses his annoyance by saying "The last owner never had to pay for this kind of nonsense and he was in business for 40 years!"

Then she tells him that he has to pay 'back payments' for the last 40 years as well!

He burst out laughing and put the phone down.

Although we are a little concerned that there might be some legal requirement on his part. But it was clear that this woman was just scare mongering rather than just being helpful. She wanted something stupid like
