Business Travelers 17th November 2016 12:05 PM
For those people who are young and travel for business what is it you want and need from your hotels and what can they do that they aren't doing already?”

Would be interested in learning why you are asking.  Are you conducting research, working for a travel company or just asking out of interest?

I've yet to fathom out what the hygiene risks are with a dog”

Well there was a chihuahua(actually walking rather than being carried) that was eyeing up one of the displays for a call of nature.......

Festive Gift Fair, NEC Birmingham 15th November 2016 1:10 PM
So you have to pay to go to the event, pay for cash withdrawals for cash only traders, and there is the good old NEC car park sting.”

Also forgot to mention that had I not been offered a cut price ticket, I would have paid exactly the same amount at the door as I would have online, which included the dreaded admin fee.

Won't be going back.

German market isn't bad; wonder what it will be like post-Brexit   I usually go to graze.  Can't get the Haribo aeroplanes as they're still only sold in German airports......

Vacancy in the NHS IT department 15th November 2016 1:02 PM

Does my head in too!

I've never had any lessons on e-mail etiquette, it's basic commonsense.  Gets very frustrating when you have to include the line "please reply to me only, despite my multi-recipient message".  I actually had someone reply all to ask what I meant by the above request

Recycling Poppies 14th November 2016 10:38 AM

My local freebie newspaper featured the poppy sellers at the local Sainsbury's store and mentioned the recycling programme.

If you've wondered what to do with your poppy then all Sainsburys stores are offering the recycling service, so it's a great way to continue supporting a very worthy cause.  As I discovered yesterday, the modern poppy is very easy to take apart and reassemble.  Well done to the Royal British Legion for being eco-friendly!

John Lewis Christmas Advert Released! 14th November 2016 10:26 AM

It's far better than last year's offering.

Morrisons is quite good; young boy learning from Guinness Book of Records (always a good present for kids).  House of Fraser is just a re-hash of last year.  Aldi feature a carrot.

As for M&S, I felt underwhelmed when I saw it for the first time.  Perhaps it will grow on me, but doubt it.  Seems to sum up M&S at the moment!

Who will be next? 14th November 2016 10:21 AM

And now Robert Vaughn.

I remember him as Napoleon Solo but didn't realise he'd been in Corrie as well.

Dogs in Garden Centres 14th November 2016 10:19 AM

I am a dog lover, but think this is a step too far...

Visited large garden centre near Birmingham Airport yesterday.  It was very busy, not only with people but dogs large and small.  This business now has a Costa near the entrance in addition to their own restaurant at the back of the store and there's also a fresh food section near the tills.  What concerned me was I heard barking coming from the restaurant.  Really put me off even having a drink there.

A local garden centre that sells food has banned dogs for hygiene reasons.  I thought this applied to all such premises.  I realise guide dogs are an exception as it is obvious they are not just the family pet.

Chocolate bars aren't like they used to be 14th November 2016 10:11 AM
When I was checking out their website for research I spotted Terry's Choc Orange. My Dad loves these and only gets them at Christmas - to be honest I think they only produce them at Christmas or am I wrong?”

Hi Sam, Terry's Choc Orange is available all year round, but like all chocs they seem to be promoted more at Christmas.  New varieties too, popping candy and plain choc.  Have also recently shrunk in size.......
