Hi Trena, thats shocking.

Yep they are ripping you off.

If it was me, first I'd contact them, and ask them to take down the content within 24 hours, otherwise I will report them for copyright infridgement.

Depending on their response, I'd then lodge a complaint with google, as you don't want to be penalised with duplicate content.

You can lodge a copyright infridgement notification with google - follow below link for instructions.
Digital Millennium Copyright Act

Never had to deal with it myself, so I don't know what kind of response you'll get from google, but the threat of action maybe enough to get the other company to take down their content.

hi steve,
no i havent contacted them yet, been doing a bit of miss marples.
on their website, beneath MY text , they have 'Copyright

I'd act pronto with the Google notice, because if google agree, they will block the other site, meaning you won't run the risk of penalised for duplicate content, (although you should be ok, as you were there first!!)

Plus it will knock out any potential competiton, especially as they are playing dirty

Agreed - if you're happy with your site then see if you can take action. However, could you site be improved. Could your wording be improved with keywords etc.

It's happened to me before and fortunately I was planning on making changes anyway so was not concerned. You could look it as a compliment and move on and improve and be better than you were before... ...unless you feel you've reached perfection in which case... ..take action!

Having looked into taking action , i dont think its something we can do as i think there will be costs involved etc and cashflow is tight just now.
I do keep telling myself i should be flattered , but although i know its far from perfect, as a novice and having done it all myself i was quite proud of it and certainly dont relish the thought of having to re word it all again just cos some lazy git couldnt be bothered to put a bit of thought and effort into his own site.
I'm so cheesed off right now, especially as due to there selfish actions, we run the risk of being penalised for having duplicate content!
