Insane Rain!!

Is there anyone else in the South Manchester area today? The rain here today is of insane proportions... seriously. If it doesn't stop soon I fear the banks of the Mersey might flood making me stranded at the office all night! The only saving grace is that there is a canoe school just up the road!

Oh, and before anyone shoots me down, I know the floods in Pakistan are horrendous and a million times worse (I have donated to the cause via UNICEF) but I was just looking out of the office window and couldn't believe how bad it was.

lol, in full optimistic mood, I'm sat in the office in shorts and tshirt, only to watch it pelting it down in what should be sunny warwickshire!

Time to start building the ark

The rain is making me nervous about the new wheels... they're allegedly rain-proof, but I just don't have the cojones to test it.

Nearly 3 hours on from original post and the rain has barely let up. Getting quite worried now... but not nearly as worried as the guy on support who decided it was such a pleasant morning he wouldn't bring a jacket...

I do try .... some would say very trying
dunno what they mean im sure

Well I made it home OK, although my usual route had flooded so I had a major detour on my hands but at least it kept my car from drowning Reports on the news have shown cars floating down the road in nearby Bramhall but I haven't witnessed anything that bad.

Oh well... today is another day... even if it is Friday the 13th

I only ever got caught in one real flood before. Had to get out of the car into 3ft of dirty water and wade uphill to safety, boy it was bad that day (25/6/07). That was about 4pm. Got home about 10.30pm having been cut off by water in every direction and ended up finding a B&B room, sat with a towel round me in front of a heater drying my clothes, but then and had to wade back through 3ft of mucky water again to reach my rescue car! My staff, the lucky sods, got airlifted off the building and were bone dry! Hmphh!!
