Good article. Its a wonder why Google dont actually post articles such as these?
“I think "Myth #3 - Meta Tags Are No Longer Relevant" is a bit of a straw man... does anyone actually think that the title and meta description aren't relevant?” There's been talk for years on different SEO forums and blogs, about how Google ignores Meta Tags, or at least keywords, and can pull descriptions from your site, and you often hear so called experts saying don't worry about meta tags ![]()

Definitely meta keywords are ignored by Google. Description meta data is useful if you want to control what Google shows in the search engine result (which is important factor in determining click through). Meta title has always been important for SEO, I haven't heard anyone suggest otherwise but maybe I missed something. harvey

Not being that computer / web site literate... what are meta Tags and Meta data? I have a micro site on our main website that I am able to update / modify, is there anything on that one page I can do to aid SEO?
