I just received two this morning, both the same as yours except that the site had changed to TrainersOnLine.co.uk. Quite how that would help me attract customers for niche Scalextric goodies I struggle to imagine! ???

Seemed suspicious so I thought I'd take a look and see if there were any posts regarding our Mr. Jones and found you. At least I now know that asking to be removed from their list would probably get me added to another 1000 spammers lists, so I guess I'll just block him.

Every cloud has a silver lining - now I've found your forum I will look in regularly.

Thanks for moaning Clive,

Dave

Hosted on a pair of US nameservers with mirrors in Hong Kong.

A large number of Chinese domain names appear to be co-hosted on the same mirrored pairs.

In a previous job, I spent some time using data mining techniques to identify false addresses created by Chinese groups which were used specifically to defraud companies via paypal and credit card chargeback techniques. They would use addresses harvested off the internet, use the same phone number as a contact number regardless of the website registered, etc.

In this case, the phone number used as a contact number by the registrant is linked to 360 other websites, most of which have different registration addresses. Some of those addresses are gibberish, e.g.:

ijkl
abcd efgh
1234 private
hollywood, CA 00000

Then there's the address which is almost, but not quite accurate. There's an Ivar Avenue in Hollywood, but nothing seems to resolve to 2030 North Ivar Avenue, 90028. The postcode for the large apartment complex at 2030 Ivar Avenue is 90068, for example, so the address should at least have an apartment number as well.

That, plus the fact that the Chinese block of IP addresses that includes the Hong Kong mirror nameservers is marked as suspect by blacklist agencies, suggests that you really shouldn't even try to respond to emails from these guys.

Thanks for moaning Clive,

Dave

You are very welcome Dave

Everyone else please take note - my moaning sometimes pays off

I'm sure I don't know what you mean...

look whos back! - despite me replying AGAIN saying REMOVE, this will be the umpteenth time?

"Would you like to secure hundreds of new orders every month at zero ongoing cost?

Our domain name ShutterServices.co.uk is currently on sale and is ready to drive substantial traffic and new business to you that would have cost you tens of thousands of pounds a year to replace by instead purchasing expensive Google AdWords.

Most of our clients (who include Microsoft, Amazon, American Express, the Royal Bank of Scotland, Renault UK and Deutsche Telekom) are now finding that prime keyword domains pay for themselves within weeks rather than months by virtue of the extra business that they drive to their websites by means of type in traffic and greatly enhanced search engine positions.

Why pay through the nose for traffic that you can now have at no ongoing cost?

Best regards,

Robert Jones

Not interested in securing new business? Simply reply with REMOVE in the subject line and you will never hear from us again. Apologies for troubling."

Yes you are troubling me - leave me alone
