Skype to stop working any minute now! lol
I think skype is a good oppertunity for Microsoft to expand msn messenger, If they could make the two work within eachother, Skype has the best call functions around and is very well designed to look good and work great where as msn messenger has the classic IM look & feel but has quite a few problems =/

I hope they don't ruin skype, I use it all the time to keep in touch with the lady of my life.

Apparently it's deemed a good fit for their xbox business, lets hope their infrastructure is more secure than Sony's!

Its really a great news. I use it daily to chat my friend.

I recently updated Skype after the acquisition went through and well it still seems the same, just that it seems to really drag my system resources a little when it loads.

The last I heard about the whole thing was that they are creating a new division inside MS for Skype which is going to be head by Skypes original CEO? Does anyone know how this is going?

Thanks,
Dreamraven

Like the other posts I am concerned that it will become riddled with bugs just like all the other MS applications.

That said it has still got the potential to really threaten the telecoms companies - more and more mobile users choose skype turning expensive calls into free ones.

Plus I guess its another channel for advertising etc
