Get in a car and head out to the Cotswolds as Stratfords full of tourists ![]() Sorry Mark couldn't resist ![]() Well we've got this ropey old theatre if watching blokes in tights is your thing. Open top bus tour is a favourite. Check out Bill's House, in the town centre, plus plenty of pubs and eateries. Grab a boat on the River Avon, they do the river cruises, or you can hire a rowing or motor boat. Can do a restaurant barge which cruises up and down the river and ends up at the canal bason. Surrounding area you've got Henley in Arden, 10 mins away which is worth a 5 min visit, or Warwick is 15 mins away. Warwick Castle is well worth a visit, but is a bit pricey. Or you can come and baby sit so me and the missus can get out ![]() Luckily we also run a Stratford Tourist site: Stratford-Upon-Avon Tourist Information Or phone the tourist office on 0844 474 5334 and they will give you plenty of ideas.
Steve, Thanks for the help, now the family has left home, me and the wife have more time and money to spend. Will pass on the bady sitting, nice try. ![]() Mark Pitts
“Get in a car and head out to the Cotswolds as Stratfords full of tourists ![]() ...or even head to Stamford, hardly any tourists but still all the old buildings! If you wonder whether it worth the effort, then to quote wikipedia Stamford was the first conservation area to be designated in England and Wales under the Civic Amenities Act 1967. Since then the whole of the old town and St Martins has been made an outstanding area of architectural or historic interest that is of national importance. Need I say more, got to be worth it. ![]()
Agh trouble with Stratford is all them hairy squaddies from the nearby airbase terrorising the locals ![]()
