Video SEO

it's worth having a video as most people will prefer to actually watch something as opposed to read through the constant sales pitch on your website. You can also fit more into the video than most users are willing to read

I get the SEO benefits, although we just simply went for the embedded YouTube player on our directories.

But is there any actual non anecdotal end user stats or feedback that shows that most people prefer to see video on a website rather than read the blurb?

I read somewhere that US mobile users prefer video on smart phones, but UK based feedback we have is that PC/laptop users aren't turned on by videos. Maybe it's a culture thing, and maybe the march of the mobile will naturally change things over the next 12 months?

Be good to see some actual studies though.
