I figure, if they like the other people's way of doing things, won't hurt to follow their lead.

Hiya Malok, long time no see

I like your logic and I might just give that a go!

Why don't you apply to become an editor.....Then slip it in through the back door?

Thanks,
Barney

Cos it's against the Rules! Also the chances of you being successful in becoming an editor of your chosen category is also relatively slim unless you've chosen a small sub-category.... They don't normally let you in on a major category until you've got some experience and shown that you know what you're doing.

Cos it's against the Rules! :roll eyes:

Ahem, will confess to trying this a few years ago, which is probably why I'm never let back in

Bunch of masons if you want my opinion

can any body explain what is Dmoz and how it effective?

I have tried getting in to Dmoz as well, but I have never had any luck! I'm trying again at the minute but it takes a little while, but when you look at some of the other sites that are on there, they don't look anything special, I really don't understand!

It's just a web directory where you can submit your site, I think it used so people can search exactly what they want and then a list of sites in that category will come up, however there doesn't seem to be many sites in each category, which is probably why it is so hard to get in!

I'm sure Dmoz is rated quite highly by Google, so it would create a quality back link.

Google used to use it a base for its own directory, so it was really important to get on there. But that was a long time ago and its importance has diminished over the years.

If you can get in, go for it its free. If you don't here anything 6 months later, don't worry about it and move on.
