I'm afraid. Didn't understand what now I do? Previous I doing link building according to below process:
Title: Exact match Keyword (As my targeted)
Description: Same as my site meta description.
Keyword/tag: Keyword
But from now how I doing Link building?
It's an interesting question, and hopefully an SEO bod will help out ![]() Here's my 10 cents worth. Google is now looking for lots of links with the same anchor text as that's a sure fire signal that your link profile isn't natural. So the quick route to dominate Page 1 with <your keyword> by having loads of links with <your keyword> is now over. So vary it, use combinations of key word phrases that include your key words. Mix it up with follow and no follow. Try not to make your meta description look spammy, likewise with title tags and H1 tags.
“I'm afraid. Didn't understand what now I do? Previous I doing link building according to below process: Title: Exact match Keyword (As my targeted) Description: Same as my site meta description. Keyword/tag: Keyword But from now how I doing Link building?” Hi, Search has evolved much in a short time. We no longer look to target one or two exact match terms on our sites with the aim of improving ranks. We now revert back to what Google has always been saying before the results pages where gamed so badly. We focus on what's best for our websites visitors. This means no more exact match titles, as clearly an exact match title is for the search engines - so change this to reflect what you are offering. For example we target the term 'web design liverpool' and structured out title tag 'web design liverpool | Webrevolve'. And where ranked 5th for a long long time. We changed the tag to be a little less stuffed to: 'Webrevolve - The No 1 Web Design & SEO Agency in Liverpool' - with no other work performed whilst we measure what the result of this change would be, if any. In 6 weeks we where no1 - and have stayed there. Plus, having the No1 text in the title and actually being no1 in the results looks great! We have also tried similar things on lower ranking inner pages and also seen decent gains in terms of positions site wide. And tried the same on client sites with the same good outcomes. In the description tags you must remember you wont gain any ranking benefits from stuffing keywords. Think about description tags as an advert - what could you put in this to grab attention? Whats your USP? What could you put here to stand out and increase CTR? The next step - content. Create great content. Don't spew out tons of average stuff. Spend time developing smaller amounts of really great stuff. Post it on your blog, promote the blog, and if its good enough (it has to be great mind), it will develop links. Paul Myers
Google now likes to see a diverse link profile. So use a variety of anchor text as well as generic anchor text like "click here" and "visit the website" and well as your domain name and URL. Keep each anchor text less than 10% of the total links. rogerweavers
varied anchor texts re the way to go. The back links also need to be from a variety of sources, not just from the same types of sites. Also raise your social profile to accelerate your rankings further. 50cents
I love what I am reading here. I am learning a lot from what you guys replied. Thanks! ![]() eastvantage
This is a forever changing game, expect Google to change it into something else very soon. Ryan
I'll let you into a secret, don't bother with backlinks. type 'how to get to the top of the serps' into google. If at the top you see an entry from badlywired.com that is something I set up a couple of months ago. Based on another SEO's 'boast'. Within 2 hours it was on page 1, now it is at the top. No backlinks - no spamming. AlanF
Quality over quantity. One of my clients was recently featured on TechCrunch (an authority website) - no only did we get a huge amount of referring traffic to his site, but Google also upt ALL of his major keywords, pretty much instantly. These organic rankings then slowly died off, but with other PR activities, it helps to keep building a buffer, while long-term, the organic traffic continues an upward spiral. himynameisjohn
“After Google Penguin update, need to build a quality back-link in high pr and do-follow link website, also use in target a different key phrases use to target a inner pages of site. avoid web spamming and make branding of website. Use only white hat techniques in link building.” What about no-follow? Surely, for things to look natural, you need a decent amount of no-follow links as well? Thanks, Dreamraven |
