Every now and then you come across a bit of software you think yep that is just what I need

From their site:

"TeamViewer connects to any PC or server around the world within a few seconds. You can remote control your partner's PC as if you were sitting right in front of it. Find out why more than 60 million users trust TeamViewer!"

Best bit it is free for non commercial use

TeamViewer - Free Remote Access and Remote Desktop Sharing over the Internet

Ahh reminds me of PC no-where

Maybe for home stuff, but security side of it would worry me if I was using it on production servers.

"With TeamViewer you can remotely control any computer as if you were sitting right in front of it - even through firewalls.
All your partner has to do is start a small application, which does not even require installation or administrative rights"

Seems ripe for an exploit, or am I being paranoid

Whats wrong with good old RDP?

In Steves defence, I doubt all 60million are trusting it! How many of them have virus' or protected data on their machines?

Thats 2 against, though a damn good find mate!

I'm just a grumpy old cynic

Does look like an interesting tool though, if I get a chance, may download it and have a look. Be interesting to see how it performs against RDP going through an ISA server and a VPN, or anyone else already compared it?

This is where we need Stavros, but unfortunately he's upto his eyes in pre-web launch testing
