Offering "Google my business" Questions for free

There's still a lot of us wading through the fall out of the old Places listings and having to create new Google Plus listings, so we can show Google reviews.

Do you know if there there is anything in the pipeline or is it possible to merge 2 Google+ listings, one which was a previous non maps one, and a new maps one. The older listing is more established and has more followers, so ideally it would be nice to merge the old one with the new one.

The old one, although verified will no longer accept any updates such as phone number of description.

But I don't want to delete it as it still shows in the SERPs, see below:

Ideally merging both pages would be great, but stumped how to achieve it. Any ideas?

I do not think Google offers any type of "Merge" I know you can call and have multiple listings deleted. Feel free to get in contact with Google and ask them. Like said, I highly, HIGHLY. Doubt you will be able to merge.

Hi i  saw your link, could you please help its driving me mad.

My website  cream and browns florist is doing fantastic in the organic listings, for all its key words, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place on Google, could not ask for anything better. But google places/maps. Were listed with other florists miles and miles from Middlesbrough, and we are bang in the middles of the town centre, just a short walk from the train, bus station and town hall. We used to be in position 2 (B) now were number 25. And we don't know why can anyone explain???

We have moved locations and we verified it with a postcard but, it seems to of made it worse

You would want to start with checking your "Citations" (Directory listings) You mentioned you have moved locations, I am guessing your citations are all out of whack.

I never knew someone was about here who could help with google + .. I'm hoping you can ...

How would I go about deleting 1 of my google + sites. For some bizaare reason I thought I never had 1 so made another and now I have 2 .. Is there anyway I can delete 1 of them ,all ways I see it it will delete my entire google presents which is what I don't want

Hi Andy, may be able to help.

Try the following link, then login to Google. (choose sign in top right rather than signing up).

www.google.com/business/manage.html

This should then take you to you Google listings where you can manage them, ie edit including delete. But make sure you remove the right one!

What are the main benefits of Google My Business scheme? Is this something different from Google for Business (listings, G+ page etc.)?

It's the same mate, just the latest in a long line of names. The old maps listings and the google plus listings got merged, along with the admin panels. It was a long drawn out messy affair so I suspect the Google My Business branding is a way to draw a line and move forward.

The good news is for those of us left with lots of messy duplicate listings, you can now manage them all from the previous link.
