It's all very cockney isn't it?

ello - did I miss something ;-)

Facebook? 13th June 2015 9:30 AM

That sounds a lot better (and looks it). I hate the full screen tiled menu thing. Meh. Roll on Windows 10 then! Thanks for sharing thelegalstop.

I agree about Facebook. it is tedious with all the adverts now, constantly seeing boosted posts. You seem to get virtually no exposure without paying.

I haven't seen much about ello and I hate the name..Did you ever use it much? There are too many social media platforms as it is!

Oh no, not a speeling error... 13th June 2015 8:41 AM

Snoooooore.

Oops !  (SLAP!, Ouch, Sorry!) LOL

I am on my local one! I used it once to try and borrow some parking permits last minute. It didn't work but someone did advise me about new parking permits. I actually stepped outside and spoke to a neighbour in the end...I haven't looked at it again really! They email me all the time.

What's in a name... change... 12th June 2015 1:53 PM

This seems to happen with shops rather a lot...little shops that set up to sell Christmas goods or other random crud. They then shut down and reopen with a different name. I came across it when I worked for a council, as we'd be chasing up business rates...it's an absolute nightmare! It's ridiculous this loophole exists!

Shame, it would have been far funnier if it had meant something else!

I dont think it actually means anything (according to the beeb), its just a typo -  they wrote Fonsig, it should be Fonesig”

Microsoft Tech Support Scams 12th June 2015 1:46 PM

This sort of thing gets my goat! I would happily tell them 'good day and goodbye' but I recently found out my parents had a dodgy call and nearly went along with it. They only stopped when they asked for details. They are both really bright people but just a little bit too trusting. It disgusts me that they target older people especially. I am thinking of just ditching my landline as it only seems to attract crank calls but Virgin told us the monthly payment would go up by a £1 without it?! Bah.

Spelling out why grammar matters 11th June 2015 1:13 PM

It definitely doesn't matter much on a forum or on Twitter/Facebook as it's all so instant, you can't mess about checking everything before you click send/post. On a printed leaflet on a website though...that's bad news brown! (anyone know that reference?)

I agree with you there ,there are so many social sites now it's ridiculous , don't mind Facebook and hate twitter ,the only reason I use twitter is because Facebook automatically updates it when I post ”

I have that set up too....I used to join in with the local Twitter hours but I just don't have time as it's always when my little girl is going to bed and it's probably the worst time of the day to try and tweet for me!
