Fuel Duty Frozen! 27th June 2012 11:57 AM
Delaying a tax rise is being 'sold' by the government as good news and I am sure that the gullible majority believe them!

Over 60 pence in the pound of the fuel price is taken by the government in tax (extortionate). A substantial reduction in this tax will be good news.

The government steals billions of pounds in tax and wastes most of it. Most people just accept this fact (sad).
It looks as if Santander will be paying less money for the NatWest branches than originally agreed! They are in a strong position because the government wants to get some of our money back. Never trust the government with money as they always waste it (welfare state, NHS etc).

If you want business banking do not bank with a government controlled Bank. However it seems that non government Banks, Barclays and HSBC have just been downgraded by Moody's.

Nationwide are supposed to be offering business accounts soon. May be worth further investigation.
The demise of many local shops is unfortunate but there are still local butchers, bakers and (maybe candlestick makers). They have survived because they have adapted and actually marketed their business.

Too many high street butchers set up shop and expected the customers to keep coming. Supermarkets started decades ago so they have no excuse for going out of business.

Meat is meat!! If you want to pay for quality go to Fortnum and Mason or another top of the range shop
Joining a Chamber of Commerce? 21st June 2012 3:28 PM
If you are a bricks and mortar business and looking to build up your business in that area then Chamber Of Commerce membership is useful (at a price).

It is an old school approach to business networking and does work but it is more of a membership club than modern day networking.

Nokia slides into survival mode... 14th June 2012 3:57 PM
There is too much choice with every mobile becoming a so called smart phone.

What is the point of having web access on a mobile phone when the screen is too small to see anything?

I look back with fond memories of the days when a mobile phone just about fitted in a pocket and only made/received phone calls (analogue rules ok).
PHP Help 12th June 2012 3:17 PM
Kevin,

What is the plugin? I am surprised that you have to change the code with a plugin as that defeats the point of a plugin!

The plugin website should be able to help you.

Business Biscotti is an upcoming networking group.

They probably have breakfast meetings.

Check them out www.businessbiscotti.co.uk
Google is only interested in more control over what you do (and your money). They are no different from Apple (over hyped and over priced).

Both these companies remind me of Scientology (without the humour).
You can put video on your website. Google and the other search engines like this and it helps to optimise the site.

Putting video on directories such as YouTube to drive traffic to your website is another way to market.
