I notice that the domain is up for renewal on 22-09-10. Wonder if the guy will remember to re-register?

Dave

Seems it's not a new website anyhow, wayback is dating it back to Feb 2008

How long you had your web page up? I mean, have they been copying your site for over 2 years?

They've been around since 2007 (we arrived in 2005), and a lot of the copy they are using we have long since updated, so not that bothered about the site. I reckon your right, it was a case of "build me a site like that one" and a $3 per hour web designer did exactly that!

Its the logo that takes the mickey. Also noticed his last customer actually signed up with us last week, so If I find out he's hawking our new sign ups, then I will go nuts!

I never would have been none the wiser if it hadn't been flagged it to me.

<makes mental note to visit copyscape more often> just found 8 copies of our T&C's!

Handy having your own forum innit?!!

Oh it certainly is

Were they on Kip FX | Web Design | Graphic Design | Wordpress Master lol, I stole mine from my Copy-Writer, who told me to, as he had pinched them from a company he worked for before, obviously he tweaked his, and I tweaked ours, so mine are third generation plagiarism, does that count?

Many thanks to Sean for the credit report info, and Kip for the legal steer.

The ISP United Hosting have just updated the whois record, as it was originally registered by them on behalf of the client.

Surprise surprise:
Domain name: <edit removed whois info>

So that explains the complete lack of any contact info on the site

Have asked United Hosting if they will intervene on our behalf with a cease and desist.

Shall now wait and see what happens...

Had the following update from United Hosting

"We initially contact our client and give them a chance to make the required changes so both parties are happy. If our client does not follow our recommendations then we make a further judgement which may mean suspension or termination of the hosting account, as long as we agree that infringement of a copyright/trademark is occuring.

We will update you after our client has responded to our initial request."

Can't say fairer than that, and it's nice to see an ISP's taking their role seriously as Internet policeman.

Yes that is quite impressive! Glad to see they did not just dump the email and carry on regardless!
