I will respond in the morning once my personal South African translator has turned up!!!

Drian

Ek het geweet ja. Die probleem is dat daar nie altyd 'n Afrikaans woord is vir alles nie, so die woord word dan in Engels uitgespreek, maar met 'n afrikanse aksent

It just means that, sometimes there aren't any Afrikaans words for something, so in the end, its spoken in the english, but with an afrikaans accent. Cool Joeys, I am about a 12 hour drive from Johannesburg, down on the west coast between East London and the former Transkei

See that's what us Brits do when we go abroad We talk slowly in English, but with a dodgy fake accent, normally French

"allo, 'ave you any baked beans and bread? Mercy very much"

Ok, I'm going to see how Afikaans and Google Translate handles StarTrek

Is dit waar jy harige Vulcan ore en een keer van 'n Klingon?

Aha! My partner spent many years in Fishoek, bit farther down the coast from you. I went over there 2 years ago for a visit - beautiful country. Love Africa, having spent some time in kenya and tanzania.

that translated even worse from Afrikaans back to English.... can't beat GT for a good laugh. To answer your question though: Nee, ek het nog nooit Vulcan ore of die hare van 'n klingon gehad nie. Dit was n Halloween kostuum.

Fishoek is gorgeous, as is the area I am in. Not too sure about Kenya and Tanzania though, fartherst I've been out of the area I live is Knysna
