If you haven't heard of Google Glass, then if you are regular online user and like your gadgets, then prepared to be wowed!

Google Glass - How It Feels

This definitely is the future how I imagine it. Although maybe a bit clunky now, scale this down to be something very lightweight, then this is the device we will all have. Phone, camera, video, satnav, live web access, email.

Be interesting to see what a copper might say if you got pulled for speeding. Sorry officer I was surfing the web

I need to get my tummy back up from my feet first.... the plane, the acrobats and the horse... I feel dizzy now lol.

methinks I should start writing that letter to santa again.... it looks entirely awesome. How would they work it with people that wear glasses already though.

Thanks,
Dreamraven

I think you are seeing the birth of internet 2. In the same way we laugh at 1990's websites and spinning email icon graphics, I think we will smirk and smile at the size and impracticalness of these glasses, compared to the wafer thin or even implants will have 10 years later.

I remember seeing a volvo estate being tested a few years ago with a head up display on the windscreen, basically the same technology used if fighter aircraft. Instead of looking down at our vehicle instruments, sat nav, it would be projected in front of us on the windscreen.

But it didn't seem to take off, ('scuse the pun). I guess it was cost.

But this has potential there as well. Blue tooth your car, and you can see the speedo, satnav, stereo, all voice activated and while being able to look ahead. Whether you can concentrate will be a different matter

I think Google Glass is one of those things - it may or may not take off and it is really difficulty to predict.

Something equally difficult to predict was the tablet. It was around for 10 years before it suddenly took off for Apple. Not many predicted it would be so successful (if they were being honest).

If it does take off then it will be a major change in personal technology.
But it is too early to say...

Well resurrecting this thread as they are now well and truly here!

Ok the price tag is a bit steep for main stream but be interesting to see if they really do take off as anticipated.

Was glancing over the news over lunch and noticed that the head of the Cinemas Exhibitors Association was calling for Google Glasses to be banned in cinemas in the UK.

Not really sure why as it has a relatively short recording life. It also lights up like a Christmas tree when it does record so its fairly obvious if someone is using it.

Waiting with anticipation to see if the association or Google come out on top !
