Yes we're on the ODP for our other business not that I can see its ever been a benefit? For Cloud4 it's been submitted but similar to Steve earlier in the thread.. Nothing! I've applied to edit categories... Nothing? So i'm only going to try so hard know what I mean?

Phil

Cloud4

I get most of my entries for my clients listed, usually within 3 weeks. Got more to add so will monitor them and report back with dates tho I dont check for about 3-4 weeks after submission as ive usually forgotton before then to check

Listed in 3 weeks!! So is it insider knowledge, crossing their palms with silver, human sacrifice??

Do you charge a DMOZ submission service? You'd make a fortune, I'd pay

I guess I was lucky as both my sites were listed in less than six weeks.

Something to bear in mind is that sub-categories within DMOZ that have multiple editors will more likely be reviewed quicker than those where sub-categories that don't have editors at sub level. As the main category editor will have more to go through....

I am confused about DMOZ, is it Yahoo? I tried registering a blog a year ago and never heard anything again. Mysterious.

Tell me which site it is and i'll give it a go for you. id say about 80% of my submissions get listed but yes, always seems to be about 3 weeks for some reason.

If you could try and get My Local Services listed I'll happily throw you a Lifetime Regional Listing, or send money in the post, chocolate cake anything! Or even just feedback of why we didn't get in, so at least I knew

Just noticed that the root domain defaults to Business Directory - - South Yorkshire

but there's a company from London listed under the premium service. Can I just check is the site only covering south yorkshire?

The sit eis UK wide. If you've visited before, a cookie will take you to your local portal, so you get regional news etc. London listings that are showing are actually National Listings, so they show up in all relevant searches across the UK.

Regional Listings will just show up across your County, and normal Lifetime listings will show up under your town.

If you hit the home tab in the header, it will take you back to the index page.

The portal idea was introduced to give a more local feel, as everything was going local centric back in 2005, basically following "The Best Of" approach, but currently has mixed reviews, so we are having a rethink
