Morrisons escalate the price war

Well after the recent news about Co-op Foods £100m Fair and Square campaign to reduce the price of a 1000 lines, Morrisons have stepped into the fray and flexed its muscles.

The Daily Mail is reporting that Morrisons is starting a £1bn price war, and slashing the price of 1,200 everyday food essentials.

So I see your £100m and raise you £1bn

So who's next Tescos? Maybe £1.5bn and 1,500 reduced lines?

Either way it's good news for the rest of us, at long last!

I can safely say having just been to Morrisons to try it out that prices do seem cheaper than all time favourite Tesco. Any saving for us can't be bad. I think morrisons have also dipped their feet into the home delivery market too. Let's see if they can keep it up.

Thanks,

I love Morrisons!

I live in the middle of Tescos, Sainsburys and Morrisons, possibly Morrisons is the closest, yet i seem to prefer Sainsburys as a general rule, but do shop in both.

Forum oldies will know about my battle with Tesco's so rarely set foot in one now, even when i'm forced to for the few bits the others dont offer i tend to drive 10 miles so not to use my local !!!

Will watch the prices with interest in Morrisons and see if they can woo me to buy more products.
