I've just checked out this backlink checker, a neat gadget, but what does the 'nofollow' mean in the flag column.

Thanks
Cris

but what does the 'nofollow' mean in the flag column.

If we wanted to keep this thread from being indexed by google Steve (forum boss man) would set this thread to "nofollow" so the spiders would not index this page or follow any of the links, most peoples blogs are set as nofollow so posting on them carries not linking benefit as such.

How to check?

View the source of a page through your browser then press F3 a little box comes up, type in what you are looking for , in this case nofollow and that will tell if a page is nofollow.

Hope that helps

Thank you for the 'nofollow' info I'm going to have a look at that so I understand it better.

I have tried both backlink checkers and they give different results.

So if blogs have nofollow on most, they why does some of the guru's say to get good quality linkback, list on blogs. Always check a blog for nofollow? whats a good way to locate blogs that allow links?

Hi webpages.

Ref the no follow stuff, thats relating to manually leaving comments. To check if a blog is using no follow, view the page source and look for rel="nofollow" tags relating to other peoples comments.

No idea of the qulaity, but this showed up as a google search:
Where to find DoFollow blogs to Link Back? | Debajyoti Banerjee

Ref quality linkbacks, thats a different kettle of fish. Blogs can be a good source of this, if trackback/ping back is enabled (like on this forum for example).

Isn't way is to point you to a wikipedia defintion which can explain it a lot better than me

In my own experiences, combining using seoquake toolbar with backlinkwatch would be the best channel for digging backlinks with anchor text and other essential factors for backlinking purpose.

Hi,

Searchbliss.com is also good site for checking back links. This site shows Back links of all major search engine.
