There are alternatives to it. I used to use a little program called Analog that analysed my web server's log files but analytics just makes it easier.
You just have to copy and paste little bits of code into your page so google can track it. It's good for anyone who wants to know who their customers are and what sort of traffic is hitting their site.
Windows 3.1 was still in commercial use up to just a few years ago:
BBC NEWS | Technology | The end of an era - Windows 3.xwhat you think might replace it? Wasn't massively impressed with Google + when I tried it out the other week.
I've never tried it on a PC, just on a Mac. I was really suprised how much Safari/Mac traffic our site is getting when I looked on Analytics this morning.
'the bay' for me, more just habit I guess!
i think many see texts as more personal. I guess we all expect a few junk emails (which can be filtered out) but texting feels that bit different. WhatsApp sits somewhere in between :-)
I always thought that BlockBuster entered a saturated market in the UK as there were tons of small video shops in the 80's, but they came with more videos than anyone else and you didn't need to book to watch the latest films.
The bad thing about BlockBusters was that they were far better at fines than Brenda's local video shop, I always went with the excuse of putting it in the drop box everytime!
Why they didnt try and get into streaming sooner, I don't know; they must of already had the relationships in place with the major distributors.
It's good when you can find a job that fits so well with your personality.
I found the worst bit of BlockBusters was having to take the thing back the next day after you'd watched it!
