Looking for a bulk email sender

We currently send out a monthly newsletter from our own servers, but the interface is pretty basic, and it lacks any tracking code.

So I'm looking for something I can bolt on, which has a nice template interface for creating newsletters/mails, handles unsubscribes, and can be plugged into our exsisting database.

I like the usability of something like mailchimp.com but want something runs from our servers.

Anyone got any ideas or had any experience with bulk sender software?

Cheers Simon, but thats an online service, I'm after something we can use ourself, ie feeding direct from our database, and then sending from our own boxes. Basically like we do already, but with lots more bells and whistels.

Stavros has just PM'd me with www.interspire.com/emailmarketer

cheers mate, anyone used emailmarketer? First impressions looks pretty funky?

Just an update, in case anyones in the market. tested a few, but took the plunge with www.interspire.com/emailmarketer to replace our mail sender.

Our developer reckons the API is pretty straightforward, and its now all plumbed into our database.

Just done the first major run today (sorry anyone with a free listing, you will have got a propaganda mail), looks like its got another 24 hours to run, but the reporting stats and functionality is 1000 times better than we had before.

I'm like a kid with a new toy

We were looking for something that ran from our servers too but opted for mailchimp instead for lots of good reasons. compliance, functionailtity etc. We send approx 50k mails per week and get great results from mailchimp so no reason to change..

Yup, and usual unsubscribe stuff.

From the built in FAQ:

Signup Confirmation - Double Opt In
Don't get accused of spamming -- always use a double opt-in confirmation process. Double opt-in means that after your visitor initially enters their email address to subscribe to your list, you should then send them a "confirmation" email. This email should contain a special link back to your email marketing program, which will then verify that this visitor did indeed sign up to your mailing list.

We do the opt-in from our T&C's and offer an unsubscribe on all mails.

Early days, but very impressed so far.

Also went for the 5 license option which works out cheaper if you want to run it on 2 or more domains, rather than buying 2 single licenses.
