Child Benefit F****!

I disagree on minimum wage.. It is great for people working who know they can get paid a certain amount as a minimum but for a small business it is a nightmare. Every time it goes up the chances of small businesses being able to grow and employ more people goes down.

This may prove to be unpopular but I am sick of people fighting their own corner over the benefit system.
This government is in an appalling position and more and more decisions are going to be very unpopular, get used to it because this is only the start.

Watching "Question Time" last night and the debate about "The Big Society" got me thinking we are a nation of whiners and wingers and Cameron's point reminds me of the famous John F Kennedy quote:

"ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country"

I totally agree that we have to do something - I don't want the debt my generation has caused to be the burden of our children.

As I said in my original post, it is the unfairness of how they are going to work the child benefit cut off not the fact I won't get it if I earn above the threshold!

Agreed, God help all of us! My guess is there'll be a government policy rethink by January but oodles of damage will be done by then.

I still think every individual has an equal right to the benefits available. We fought for equal everything else so why if you are in a pair should one get penalised? One could argue "oh well, at least one of you is not disabled in your house, so the able person can drive, cook clean and drive and thus the disbaled peson doesn't need mobility money! Think about how you could apply that 'you're a couple now so your resources should be combined' to other benefits.
