Morning all

Something to get your teeth in to

Redditch is in the process of gaining another swimming pool on the grounds of Abbey Stadium, must admit i hadnt heard of it until yesterday until this hit my mat - Controversial plans for heating the Abbey Stadium (From Redditch Advertiser)

So your thoughts? Gota be honest i am initially quite opposed to the idea but talking it through hmm not so sure where i stand now.

Come on peeps lets get a good old fashioned debate going - this is sure to be a controversial post

Genius idea, why not?

Crematoriums have to generate incredible amounts of heat, which is then wasted once it's purpose has been served. Why not, Granny won't mind, could even make it a selling point in this climate of green issues.

I'm all for it. I mean, it's not like they're actually bubbling Granny's mortal remains through the jacuzzi, or offering discounted gym membership when you cremate your fifth relative. The heat isn't even being generated by the corpses. It's being generated by a gas burner.

....or offering discounted gym membership when you cremate your fifth relative....

Careful, they may take that up as a marketing idea! ;-)

Why not go one step further & give them a free pass to the baths for the day !

Being a human being, I wont agree.
I wont agree a human body to be priced and I think it would be more hurtful for the dead one's loved ones.
If it was as good, why do some people raise voice and make it controversial rather it would be accepted without any debate.

Because we're British, and that means we can complain, or at least argue, about anything. We even have a term for it - devil's advocate.

If pressed, I can present an argument against Children In Need, a nationwide charity organisation that raises money for disadvantaged children all over the world. The fact that I can argue it doesn't mean that Children In Need is a bad thing. It just means that, as someone once told me, I could argue both sides of a mobius strip!

All for it, as long as Mark gets the pool contract lol!

Heat is a by product anyway, so why let it got to waste, from the eco side (as already mentioned) this is great idea, and could well be the norm in 50 years time, it is just a modern slant on roman baths anyway.

You speak for yourself!

Anyway your wrong, I'm English not British
