Charity and Police Magazine Advertising SCAMS - Govt

Hooray, we've been hit with another one

Clive has just been having some fun with them on the phone.

If you get a call from Police Community Clubs, leave your money in your bank account, don't put it in theirs. 

They are not the police, the advert won't be seen by anyone, you won't be changing the world for the better and it's a scam. The North West still seems to a hot bed for these scams 

What a shame that a post about scams started in 2011 is still relevant today and nothing has changed

Unfortunately this scam is alive and well

Advice though remains the same.

Never, ever, ever agree to anything from a cold call.

If remotely interesting, get a contact number, and tell them you will contact them, then put the phone down. Do 5 minutes worth of research on Google. That's all it normally takes to unearth a dodgy business or scam.

If they can't give you a contact number, get pushy, or come out with "this offer is only valid for right now", put the phone down. You have just saved yourself form being scammed.

Business owners wise up!

This scam and variations of it are as old as the hills. If you really feel the need to hand over money from a cold call, then give me your number 

Still these scams continue to fester

Although this scam is now donkey years old, with the volume of new business owners setting up shop, this scam remains profitable and will no doubt remain so

I was going to post another 1 myself a few days ago , but found the old thread closed so never bothered. But was quite a funny read and passed a boring day at work and made me laugh     a lot .. Is very long so wont bore you with it
