I have a Facebook page for my business which has been up for a couple of months now. I only have 36 likes and was wondering if any of you lovely people can share your tips for increasing your likes? Is there anything that has worked well for you?
Thanks!
37 ![]() Just general marketing I suppose. Dunno if you saw this, but it's an interesting read: Jesus Had 12 Followers, How Many Do You Need I'm still more of a fan for likes actually on your website rather than FB pages, at least then your site gets the direct exposure on peoples walls, rather than trying to get them to hop again from your FB page to your site. Just my 5 pence worth ![]()
Thanks for the like ![]() Thanks for the link to that article, it provides a very good point. I'll not worry too much about the numbers of likes and followers.
As someone that has rather cobweb infested social network (lol no time I'm afraid), I can see a few genuinely good ways to use it as a marketing tool, but I've said it before, its not the be all and end all of marketing. That article was brilliant by the way, and on may areas I agree mostly. but its not because it will help you increase your following only. It's because it helps build your and your company's reputation. "Keeping it real" and focusing on your clients, potential customers, and the odd visitor that wandered in off a Google search does so much more for you than people are likely to think. It would really seem as if business is becoming more money oriented than customer oriented (IMHO). Being good to your existing clients, helps you build a bigger, better client base, and having a social network is just an easier way for them to spread the word if they like what you do. Thanks, Dreamraven

sjr4x4 the article you share is awesome. In Social Media Optimisation, mostly businesses concentrate on "Like" or "Followers" but there are just fewer who believes in quality. IMO if you want quality followers or Like, while doing comment on any article or news or similar Log in with your Twitter or Facebook account and then share your thoughts. I think, it will be more strong than creating a back-link there. IanL
Thanks IanL, great tip ![]()
I also think hosting giveaways, auctions, raffles or contests might be a way in which you can generate interest in your product using social media. This action will also provide an avenue for customers to share news about your organization via "electronic word of mouth". enterprisepe

Thanks!” I share my page on my wall every day, and that way my friends can like it, then get them to share my page, then their friends can like it... a chain reaction :P
“I share my page on my wall every day, and that way my friends can like it, then get them to share my page, then their friends can like it... a chain reaction :P” Do you see any worthwhile results though? It seems to me a lot of people put a lot of time and energy into it but get little business reward out of it? In your line of work, I can imagine Facebook working quite well for you, with maybe loyal local customers, and you posting offers etc. Be interesting to hear your feedback. |
