I do wonder what the point is of the United Nations is sometimes, thinking of Bosnia, Rwanda, Sudan... to name a few...
The Syria PM has done a bunk to Jordan according to the BBC, so wonder how long now till the inevitable, and President Assad gets overthrown? I think it would be better if everyone took a leaf out of David Starkeys book and just let the Syrians decide their own fate. Everytime a third party gets involved with an uprising or civil war the problem seems to escalate. Fortunately our boys are just to busy watching the Olympics to participate in yet another conflict that has nowt to do with Brittain. We can send humanitarian aid once they sorted themselves out.
