I wish there was a prog on telly for rogue customers, you know the type that wants work doing then wont pay. i have one at the moment that lives in a big expensive house in Sheepy Magna (ok they earnt it) but they knew what my charges are before they called me in, and they will only pay for one visit to treat moles and not the two visits. So now i have warned all pesties that i know in the area, about them, and so it will be harder to get a local pestie, and boy if the horses break a leg cos the moles were not treated they will wish they had paid my Thanks, ithas2bedone
Good idea about the TV prog. It's tough enough for us small businesses, without not getting paid for the work. Holborn Direct Mail 020 8683 7155
i tend to put names on my forum, (not this one) then local pesties or trades people can see where the bad payers are. ![]() Thanks, ithas2bedone
Hmm interesting point re bad payers - had my share of those over the years! Just sitting on the fence here , my only comment is though if you charge per visit and you have only been once then "technically" you arent out of pocket are you? Ok i understand that the critters may return and if they do no doubt you will get called back but are you actually owed anything from the 1st visit? Or am i missing the point ? Clive
been there twice once to put out the traps and once to collect hence Thanks, ithas2bedone

A thought - do you email the client written details of what you'll be doing for them, your terms and conditions and a summary of the technical issues involved in dealing with the pest that worries them? If clients don't understand or can't remember what you've told them, they may be reluctant to pay when (from their perspective) the problem isn't sorted. Linda CareersPartnershipUK
Yep they are told to their face as well, before we actually start the job. i have dealt with this customer for approx 2 years with no probs till now and so she is aware of how we work and as we tell them on every visit they certainly know. They will be back sooner or later and so i wont work for them till i am paid up, and i may not even after that unless i am paid upfront ![]() Thanks, ithas2bedone

Yep that is an idea we are kicking around for future use, i am glad i am not the only one with that thought, Thanks, ithas2bedone |
