Well it looks like the MOJ (ministry of justice) has surpassed itself yet again. Led by the right honourable Chris Grayling, his department has been paying G4S and Serco over Thanks, Ray Priestley
The question is, does G4S pay more than the probation service? If so jump ship quickly ![]() ![]()
Interesting dilemma, management get paid more, front line staff get Thanks, Ray Priestley
“The question is, does G4S pay more than the probation service? If so jump ship quickly ![]() ![]() "The Governments dependency on private providers of public services" . In short : A repugnant, odious abdication of public morality and duty stemming from the senseless application of Neoliberalist ideology. We (the UK citizen who is not rich) shall be paying the price in all sorts of ways, for many years to come. thumbsdown Oh I had a **** day at work...... Thanks, Ray Priestley
Oh dear ![]() Did think of you when I saw on the news about the bloke who took his tag off and came out of the Mosque wearing a Burka. Think that was G4S wasn't it? Apparently there had just been an investigation into whether he had been tampering with his tag previously, of which they said there was no evidence. Bet you have millions of stories, should write a book, I'd buy it ![]()
Well as we approach the wholesale destruction of the Probation Service and the introduction of 21 private companies who have no experience of managing offenders (but they will apparently do it much cheaper), the papers will have plenty of stories to tell in October 2014. That is when the corrupt and thieving bean counters take over asylum. Profit will become a priority, public protection will be an expensive luxury of the past, quantity will always override quality. Arguments will ensue over who pays for an offenders drug treatment, bureaucrats will meet and discuss who should get the Thanks, Ray Priestley
You'd have thought EVERYONE (even this government) would have learnt from the Olympics debacle when a huge, high profile security contract was handed over to an MD with a criminal conviction and a string of company liquidations behind her... Perhaps not. Linda CareersPartnershipUK
I am in the US but I gather from reading this post that this is the first time private business is getting into the probation industry? Over here, at least in my area, everything relating to criminals is run by private industry with the exception of parole. Creates a lot of red tape and the right hand never knows what the left is doing ...in this case where the probationers are even located, much less what they are up to. Layla
“the right hand never knows what the left is doing ...in this case where the probationers are even located, much less what they are up to.” That is exactly where we are heading..... More crime, more victims and big profits for some ![]() Thanks, Ray Priestley
It's a shame that the powers that be over there can't look over here and see how it is not working! I guess all that they can see is the dollar signs! Layla |
