I would be interested to see how many people on here use the social network FourSquare?, it seems to have a lot of potential if used correctly. The pages you could create used to have follow links, but now I think they are redirects.

I look forward to your thoughts

Had a dabble with it a long while ago, but I kept getting bombarded with spammy requests, and in the end gave up on it.

I believe it got rebuilt recently, and it's supposed to be very good, maybe it's time to give it another look. I think it's a lot more popular in the States than the UK.

Anyone using it to good affect?

Hi,

They claim to have 45m users, with 5bn check-ins and 1.6m business merchants signed up with them (as of January 2014). I wouldn't say it's a top social media platform, but I know a number of people using it on their smartphones.

If you have a local business and wish to get lots of great reviews that other users can see, I think you should include FourSq in your marketing portfolio. From what I've read before Xmas, they've secured additional $35 million funding in December 2013, so they might come up with some new ideas soon.

Another app (launched recently and loved by some celebrities) is MotorMouth (MotorMouth - Now We're Talkin') - a sort of spoken FourSq, something definitely worth exploring!

Foursquare doesn't just broadcast your location to other users. It also serves as a game, pairing virtual rewards with real activities. Users earn badges as they visit different spots. Visit one location enough times and you become the mayor. You can use Foursquare to meet new friends, find out who else is in your area or compete against other people in your city.

Sounds like it's aimed at a younger audience rather than business owners, or maybe I just don't get it?
