Thanks,

Thanks for that - yea did read something similar yesterday.

Point i was trying to make was if they can use the moon & science to calculate his death, why not change his birthday - seems that we are just plucking a date out of no where to mark a date with no real credibility.

I'm a Governor at a CofE school - will talk to the ex officio next time we a have meeting, see if he can convince me.

I'm worried as to whether I joined the right forum here, 2 administrators, ones a miserable old git, with the other being lined up as the next state executioner!

One miserable old git? I'm sensing a battle for top Victor Meldrew spot!

Bank holidays should be banned ... they kill our business!!!

I dont know, Steve was winging about a single day off, just been going through some email responses and came across this -

" Thank you for the email. Unfortunately, we are closed for holidays and the Summer period...We will re-open on 30th September.

We apologise for any inconvenience this will cause and when we re-open in September it will be 'business as usual' and we hope that you will continue to visit us"

Now that's a holiday shut down!!! Wonder if they have any employee's on either forced leave, paid or otherwise?

Clive

Very fair point, so I'm just a miserable old git

That said, 3 days of Sun has restored my faith in Bank holidays, and have used our National Trust membership to good affect and worn the kids out

Hmmm National Trust, I thought you wouldn't have to worry about work if you are a card carrying member ;0)

Thanks,
Pubby

Afraid so all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy is the old saying.

Would you like refreshed and revitalised employees or knackerd burnt out ones

All for occasional public holidays in the interests of employee morale. Just maybe space them out a bit more

On the plus side, employers are not required to pay employees for bank holidays and can choose to use the bank holidays as part of the employees statuary holiday entitlement....

Thanks,
Barney

Good point from Barney, just make employees take bank holidays as statuary holiday requirement. Nothing a liberal lawyer can do about it
