Fed up with HP laptops, anyone tried a Lenovo?

I've used Lenovos over the years and have never had any problems with them. My son has one at the moment and it lives up to all his gaming and editing expectations. Not heard any complaints from him. As for me, I now use an Asus and have found it really good. My daughter, who is studying software engineering at uni has also just purchased an Asus, due to its spec and is over the moon with it. Again, they are really well priced and so far - 3 years on, I've had no problems at all.

Post purchase update. First Lenovo has been running smoothly for the last couple of weeks without any problem.

Then Clive aka Gardes shiny new Lenovo arrived (albeit amazingly after Lenovo forgot to put the delivery address on).

He has had it for less than a week and broke it last night

For some reason his user account became corrupted and windows tried re-installing itself and got it's knickers in a twist.

Luckily I could get into it from the hidden admin account, and after updating firmware and BIOS, we now seem to be back to normal and everything seems ok.

So duff a Lenovo, or has the former HP Laptop destroyer now moved onto a new brand  

I have come to the conclusion there is a deep mystical anti technology power at work around Clive who is also a talented bug finder and dab hand at breaking websites. If you need any testing done, I know just the man!

Lets see how the Lenovo goes over the next few months.... Otherwise it's an Asus

A new record though, even for me - had it under a week ! Have to see if i can kill it again - was fun watching Steve scratch his head in disbelief
