I have found a good landing page ups the fans a lot quicker, not long done our page and very happy with the results.

Since our company website is still young and I am tasked to promote it -- I've been using facebook and twitter a lot to network it. It's a little bit of a challenge as I feel like I am a start up -- feeling the environment and how best to make the facebook and twitter accounts meaningful re our business. As it is, slow on the pick up -- better than no pick up at all.

It will be slow, but I'm sure all your efforts will pay off.
