For example saying a product is say

Actually it is not allowed to offer something in a year round sale, common misconception that mobiles and sofas are sold this way.

If they are on sale all year, they are telling customers that they are charging to much, and that they can be sold for this much, so trading standards etc step in a slash the prices.

DFS etc do not have the same sales all year, they have to make sure that different sofas are on different offers throughout, I used to work at the White City one lol!

From October 2009, BBC NEWS - Never-ending sales 'have to stop'

Anybody noticed any improvement?

I still see the same sale on all the time!

Thanks,

No you do not, you just think you do, its marketing magic, a bit like the Photo Booth website you happened across but was actually one of your clients lol, it's just sleight of hand, some people would have spotted that it was your client, some would have missed it.

Record the adverts for a year, then play them back, the sales never feature the same sofas/ranges consecutively.

What i have seen before is you have a time limit on your sale, for example you say:

Normal price

Is there such a thing as a sale? Or just a blatant rip off before the price is reduced?

Thanks,
Barney

On a similar note, has anybody had any experience with offering clients discount codes to work on their web site?

I'm thinking about running some offers whereby clients can enter a promo code into our shopping cart before payment to reduce the cost by 10%.

Does anyone have any real experience with this? Did you see sales go up?
