It looks like Facebook is about to introduce some major changes over the coming weeks to it's look, feel and usability.

Us fickle humans don't like change, so it will be interesting to see what we all think.

There's more on this from Mashable, but here's an interesting quote, I wonder if this rings true with anyone..

"For Facebook, it all boils down to one problem: emotion. Facebook has hundreds of millions of users and spectacular levels of engagement, but it is a platform that has lost its emotional resonance over the years. More and more people visit Facebook out of necessity rather than desire. It

I have already set the new Facebook up. I really like it, the timeline feature is fun!

For anyone else not wanting to wait til it is released to everyone else, follow these instructions:
visit Home - Facebook developers
click 'Apps' at the top nav bar
Click create new App
Name it anything to test, you don't have to actually build anything
Click open graph beta
Fill in again, just try 'read' and then 'books'' in the boxes, again it's not too important

Go back to the main Facebook and you should get a message at the top about trying out the new timeline

I like the new interface. As usual enjoyed my popcorn watching all the complains, petitions, threats, pleas to force Facebook to switch back to its old interface. Happens every time without fail. Same people too. The irony is that they're defending the interface they we're originally complaining about back when it was first introduced.

lol, yup us humans are a fickle lot, plus we all like a good moan

Facebook is also removing Review Tab by the end of this month. Advising users to post comments or use discussion options instead of this.

hmmm. Forgive me, but I wonder if this is to deflect attention from Facebook being sued by a former user? Apparently they hadn't deleted any of his private details and could even give him transcripts of his messages etc.

All in all though, it seems as if the redesign is for the better anyhow. People have always said that a change is as good as a holiday

Thanks,
